You might be wondering, where do I put my coat and purse?  Where is the coffee?  Where do I pick up my paycheck . . . . ummm   Can we talk about that later?

Every day you work, before reporting to the library/media center, please let the main office know you are here by signing in.  They will give you a volunteer tag.  All adults in the building must be wearing a tag that identifies them.  I'm sure you understand.

You can keep your coat in the closet near the back of the office, in fact, please put your purse there, too.  We haven't had a problem with things walking off, but we don't want your purse to be the first.

We have a coffee pot in the office, which we try to keep full. You can use one of our cups, you can bring one if you want, but we usually have styrofoam cups available, also.  We make caffeinated coffee here, but if you want to make decaf, that is fine.  We can run that through the pot, too.  Just make sure we know, so when we feel sluggish in the afternoon, we don't think we are getting sick or something.  Smiles

The women's restroom is near the front of the building next to the entrance to the music room.  As you come in the front doors, pass the gym, and turn right.  It is the first door on the right.

What hours will I work?  That depends on you.  We are very flexible and willing to work around your schedule.  You are helping us out.  Usually, volunteers work in the morning from 9:00 am to 12:00 or 1:00 to 3:30, but you can stay longer if you want!

It seems like there was something else, but I can't remember.  Oh well.

Oh, yeah, about that paycheck, we have a jar with a nice selection of candy on Sue's desk, and the kids always smile and sometimes even say "Thank you" . . . . .
