Hello

If you are reading this, you are among the most special people in the world.  You are a volunteer, and we love, appreciate, adore, have great affection for, (oops, I'm gushing) our volunteers.  Let's just say we like it when people help us.  And we need you, too!

The following pages contain information to help you help us keep our library/media center running smoothly.  We have a

bulletDewey Decimal System (DDC) reminder page, in case you feel a little rusty about how to file the books.  It contains links to some web sites that have short (or long, if you want to become a DDC "expert") lessons on how the DDC is organized.
bulletLinks to a map of how our library/media center is organized and a layout of the school.  (Use the "back" button on the browser to return to this page.)
bulletHow to check books out and in, which is the most important volunteer task in the library/media center.
bulletSome suggestions about how to interact with the students over subjects that frequently come up.
bulletPractical information about how to do other tasks in the library/media center.
bulletGeneral information, under "housekeeping", about where rest rooms are, and other things that it is important to know.

Please go through the following pages, concentrating on areas that are new to you (or need refreshing).  You may want to bookmark this page first.

Also, feel free to refer to this web site whenever you want to look something over to refresh your memory, or use it as a resource for the floor plan of the school and library/media center.
