Asian Americans

When discussing Asian influence on American culture it is important to understand that Asians have been in the U.S. for a long time. Many families are already in their tenth generation here. The history of Asians in the U.S. is the history of dreams, hard work, prejudice, discrimination, persistence, and triumph.

Asia is very large continent containing numerous nations.  Asia encompasses many nations such as the Philippians, Korea, Viet Nam, and many others all of which have sent immigrants to the United States.  For the purposes of our investigation we will focus on three areas of Asia from which the largest numbers immigrants have come.  These areas are the countries of China, and Japan, and the Arab or Middle Eastern countries.

You can use the time machine door on the left to investigate the history, culture, and contributions of Chinese, Japanese, and Arab immigrants.
